00:50 – Laps around the sun

It's sounding like a war zone outside as I type this. People are celebrating their lap around the sun in the usual noisy way outside.

I don't celebrate the completion of planetary laps, or as Elise so nicely puts it, imprecisely parametrized solar cycles at the beginning of January. I have another two months and a bit to go before I presumably complete my current lap.

If you're in the habit of making noise in January though, I wish you a very successful new lap around the sun. Try to be healthy, try to be happy and relax and take it easy. As you know, the next lap is a bit longer than the last one. We're getting a free round around our own axis! Isn't that just amazingly cool? :-)

All reality is virtual, as p2 says. Enjoy your trip through 2008. I will certainly try my best!

For starters, I am really looking forward to going back to work Wednesday. These extended holidays are really not good for me, as this picture by murble (or was it Nattie?) of me clearly shows:

Tired hacker.

I clearly had a blast at 24C3 last week. I'm going to enjoy some of the talk videos over the next couple of days. Not to mention the excellent new tshirts and jumpers I bought and the amuzing stickers. Whee!

These holidays really aren't healthy. As they say though, if it's not fattening, immoral, or illegal, you can't be having fun. I wonder who they are though. ;-)
