[this is a good test to see if anyone at work reads my blog ;-)]
Don't you just love it when you're fighting with a really, really annoying bug (the kind that looks predictable/reproducible but isn't, the kind that you fix once, but comes back later looking just a bit different,...) and a group of people gather around your desk, pointing out "helpful suggestions".
This is particularly fun when you've heard the same suggestions twelve times already, and went over them in your mind at least twice as many times.
Of course, I'm too nice to shout "leave me alone, it's my bug!", instead resorting to subtle hints (subtle, that's me, yeah...) and going quiet while the volume of the helpful throng increases until it's an insufferable and overpowering "noise" that blocks out all further thought.
Please guys, I like to think I know what I'm doing. Suggestions are great, once, but there's absolutely no point in five people randomly shouting out things that could be going wrong.
Some breathing space, headphones and a couple of <units of time> alone with the bug is really all I need. Much as I appreciate suggestions...
*grmbl*
Must get to work at an insane hour tomorrow morning, beat the suggestions to the chase...
...the bug will probably keep me awake all night anyway...
